Twitter apps on Adobe Air

Twitter is starting to buck a trend, everywhere you go it seems every other blog post is about Twitter, and with the official launch of Adobe Air, all sorts of apps have been coming out, here are a some of the best Twitter apps currently out using the Adobe Air platform.

Twhirl is probably the most popular Air application on Twitter, it has just been purchased by seesmic and the latest version (0.8) now supports friendfeed

Snitter has some really nice touches but doesn’t have as many options as twhirl, no support for friendfeed or updating to multiple micro blogging platforms yet, but it’s very smooth, and has some nice custom features.

Also every screen name in Snitter can have a user stylesheet assigned to it. You can access it from the options scrren and clicking on the edit button. Changes to the CSS will be applied immediately.

Spaz was one of the first Air applications that I used for Twitter, and I quite liked it, very simple and easy to use and it’s Open source

Birdy 1.0 is a little blue bird that sits on your desktop and tweets your Twitters, It also lets you post to Twitter by clicking on the bird.

Twibble is, yes you’ve guessed it another Twitter app. The main feature of this application is the cover flow style display of your tweets, which looks very nice

Posty is a one for all app, that lets you post to Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce and Tumblr.

Twinja is another online application, same features as above, nothing to stand this one out from the croud.

Alert Thingy was made for FriendFeed but you can also send and receive tweets on Twitter and post photos to flickr from the comfort of your desktop.
